PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To supervise the physical therapy team (including Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, PT students, and PTA students) working in the Fitness Center, manage all patient scheduling details, and oversee client documentation and billing processes; to provide evaluation and treatment of people with neurological, orthopedic, and general medical diagnoses.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors or Masters or DPT Degree in Physical Therapy, Current licensure with the Physical Therapy Board of California Certification as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor (CCI) by the American Physical Therapy Association, or willingness to obtain this credential within 1 month of being hired. Previous supervisory experience required Current CPR certification. Excellent verbal and written skills. Effective time management abilities. Knowledge of use and operation of all gym equipment. Strong professional philosophy including the role of exercise as a therapeutic intervention

WORK DEVICES/MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT USED: 

Various office supplies and equipment including: telephone, fax machine, computer, printer, copy machine, file cabinets, papers/forms, calendar, pens/pencils, ruler, scissors, etc.

Must be comfortable working with and operating a variety of fitness equipment including treadmills, stationary bicycles, rowing machines, etc. The ability to work with various commercial strength training pieces of equipment with adaptive pieces and accessories will also be expected of the head trainer.
