DIVISION:                FACILITIES AND LOGISTICS

                       

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

To provide guidance to ADC attendants regarding job-related issues, and ensure donation site compliance with operational, safety, and Human Resources policies and procedures. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

 

This position works under the direct supervision of the ADC/Transportation Logistics Manager and also the Senior Manager of Transportation & Logistics.

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

 

This position provides daily work direction to Remote Donation Center Attendants.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Trains and coaches ADC attendants and provides feedback regarding job duties; acts as a resource to resolve job-related issues, and offers corrective verbal and written counseling as appropriate to ensure positive results.

 

  1. Replenishes ADC site supplies such as paperwork, first aid, gloves, bags, receipts, water, umbrella, chair, etc.

 

  1. Assumes responsibility for the following functions:

 

  1. Procedures outlined in ADC manual are followed at all sites; the interior and exterior areas of the trailer are maintained in a neat and presentable condition.

 

  1. Ensure ADC's are trained to report site status and appearance at set intervals.

 

  1. Company property is safeguarded at sites through proper handling of donations.

 

  1. Safety, company, and departmental policies and procedures are followed.

 

  1. Ensure attendants follow directions for calling in regarding absences and are counseled on attendance issues.

 

  1. Performance issues are addressed in a timely and consistent manner, or referred to next level of management.

 

  1. Human Resources policies and procedures are followed.

 

  1. Data entry to track donation count, seal verification, trailer inventory, etc.

 

  1. Uses Company provided cellular phone to communicate and/or input pertinent information into fleet management, internal company, payroll applications, and other software applications (APPs) as required for direction, job assignments, routing, and documenting transportation and donation activity.

 

  1. Maintains communication with Dispatch throughout day providing trailer percentage status at the Remote ADC sites and determines trailer pulls as required.

 

  1. Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and forms using fleet management cell application software.

 

  1. When using company vehicles, ensures vehicles are maintained, inside cab and outside is clean and free of trash and debris.

 

  1. Obeys all transportation laws, particularly traffic laws (speed limit, road restriction, etc.)

 

  1. Completes all required forms, logs, and online reports correctly.

 

  1. Prepares Attendant schedules that meet business needs in the most efficient, cost-effective manner.

 

  1. Ensures timecards are collected, reviewed, signed, and submitted according to Payroll deadlines.

 

  1. Works with Transportation management and Security as required to resolve issues related to area of responsibility.

 

  1. Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork, demonstrates good customer service skills, and projects a good company image to the public, customers, donors and coworkers.

 

  1. Communicates with management, co-workers, consumers, and the general public.

 

  1. Inspects the condition of all trailers staged at sites and reports all defects detected to Transportation Supervisor.

 

  1. Conducts monthly safety meetings.

 

  1. Ensures that grounds at all donation sites are maintained.

 

  1. Ensures that all sites and attendants are within OSHA compliance.

 

  1. Works overtime as required.

 

  1. Performs other job related duties as required.

 

  1. Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property.

 

  1. Acts safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations.

 

  1. Follows all company policies and procedures.

 

  1. Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork. Assists and shares knowledge and information with other employees as needed.

 

  1. Uses good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness.

 

  1. Works with, trains, and/or acts as a good example for program participants receiving training at Goodwill.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.

 

  1. Two years relevant experience including supervision. Prior remote site experience desirable.

 

  1. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

 

  1. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

 

  1. Valid CA driver's license and DMV record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company.

Various office supplies and equipment including: telephone, fax machine, adding machine, computer, printer, copy machine, file cabinets, papers/forms, calendar, pens/pencils, ruler, scissors, etc.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Ability to be flexible within a variety of deadlines.

 

  1. Ability to be on-call weekends and holidays.

 

  1. May be required to obtain company Forklift Certification

 

  1. May be required to obtain Hazardous Waste Certification
