JOB TITLE:             TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

                                    (Nonexempt)

 

AREA:                    ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY EXCHANGE CENTER (ATEC)

 

DEPARTMENT:        ATEC 

 

DIVISION:              HUMAN SERVICES

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

To provide assistive technology support services for individuals with disabilities.  Provide technology support for ATEC staff and related ATEC assistive technology equipment.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

 

Reports directly to the ATEC Manager.

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

 

None.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Manages ATEC's AT Loan and Reuse Program, including loan/reuse coordination; policies and procedures, facilitating requests, follow-ups, donations, and wait list.

 

  1. Manages ATEC equipment and software inventory, including storage, cleaning, and labeling/bar-coding Assistive Technology related equipment. Coordinates non-repairable equipment with vendors, tracking of equipment and shipping cost management.

 

  1. Provides reports on AT equipment activities, including but not limited to: inventory, AT Loan and Reuse, monthly loan and reuse status report, outstanding loan report and semi-annual and annual loan and reuse reports.

 

  1. Coordinates internal AT / AAC / Sensory Room's issues with appropriate ATEC staff.

 

  1. Interacts with representatives from referring/funding agency to coordinate loan and reuse services.

 

  1. Provides outreach/marketing activities to other public and private referral/funding agencies.

 

  1. Manages shipping and receiving function for loan and reuse services.

 

  1. Drives GIOC or personal vehicle to where client is located in order to provide services.

 

  1. Attends all meetings as required.

 

  1. Works cooperatively with support staff and other GIOC programs.

 

  1. Assists clients in opening cases and/or obtaining support services through the various referral and funding sources.

 

  1. Works overtime as required.

 

  1. Drives on company business as required.

 

  1. Performs other job related duties as required.

 

  1. Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property.

 

  1. Acts safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations.

 

  1. Follows all company policies and procedures.

 

  1. Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork. Assists and shares knowledge and information with other employees as needed.

 

  1. Uses good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness.

 

  1. Works with, trains, and/or acts as a good example for program participants receiving training at Goodwill.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. S. degree preferred but not required, preferably in computer science, social work, or rehabilitation, or equivalent experience in assistive technology, computer hardware/software systems and applications, preferred but not required.

 

  1. Experience in provision of assistive technology, computer technology services, preferred but not required.

 

  1. Experience working with people with disabilities, ability to work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team.

 

  1. Troubleshooting skills.

 

  1. Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.

 

  1. Reliable transportation, valid California driver's license, liability insurance, and a DMV record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company.

 

OTHER:

 

Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
